Muyoti: League suspense hurting our preparations

Nairobi City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti says the current uncertainty pertaining to when the FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) will be resuming is affecting his team’s preparations and training program. The FKF caretaker committee suspended all leagues a week ago following the disbandment of FKF by the government and the subsequent installation of the committee to run football activities in the country for the next six months. The committee has maintained that the league resumes this weekend but with a lot of logistics yet to be handled, it remains a big doubt and for Muyoti, the uncertainty is affecting how they are preparing, he says it has been difficult to keep the players focused on the task ahead.Timothy Babu Ouma officially capped 🇰🇪#AppreciationPost #Babu #Tunaweza#𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕎𝕒ℕ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚 pic.twitter.com/q31gNgRFVI— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) November 22, 2021 ‘When you do not know when the league is going to resumes then it definitely affects how you prepare. You cannot maintain the same momentum when you do not know when the league resumes and this also affects the players because they are not top focused, you know when the opponent you are going to play is known there is that excitement and anxiety from the players because they are looking forward to a particular game. Right now we are doing normal training and a couple of friendly games” he stated. As they wait for the way forward from the caretaker committee, City Stars have some positive news on their end after Peter ‘Pinchez’ Opiyo returned from injury, the veteran midfielder featured in their last game against Vihiga Bullets as a sub; the match was his first of the season and for Muyoti, his return is a big boost for Simba wa Nairobi.“Having Pinchez back is definitely very big for us as a team. He is one of the senior players in the team, he is a quality player and motivates the young ones on and off the pitch and as a coach, it is always a big boost to have a player like him available,” he added.FRIENDLY FIRE: CITY STARS TIES KANGEMI, BEATS NAIJA BOYS, AGAINAn Isaku goal in the 84th allowed Kangemi United to escape with a point during a friendly game played at the Vapor Sports ground.FULL STORY ⤵️[https://t.co/y70DpDTPoq]#𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕎𝕒ℕ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚 pic.twitter.com/YQjnqJqz7n— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) November 22, 2021 City Stars are still without Nicholas Kipkirui who is sidelined he has been joined by John Kamau and Erick Ombija in the doctor’s room.
