Free agent Aswani eyes second leg come back

Veteran forward Kepha Aswani has pledged to sprung up in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) scene with a bang in the second leg and continue his pursuit of the elusive ‘Golden Boot’.Aswani is currently a free agent after his efforts in securing another deal in the last transfer window after parting ways with the 2009 league champions Sofapaka in August failed to yield positive results. The goal poacher left Sofapaka after his contract expired and was said to be on his way back to the den for another stint but the transfer hit a snag at the eleventh hour.God Gat Me 🙏 pic.twitter.com/813oWaXdRl— Aswani Kepha (@kepha_aswani) July 2, 2021 Kakamega Homeboyz were also rumored to be interested in signing the widely traveled forward but he says he helplessly watched the two deals slither through his hands courtesy of a unspecified short course he was studying.Aswani who won the league title with Mathare United in 2008 was optimistic of a strong come back and muscle for the boot, a target he had not shied from laying bare for the four years he had been attached to Sofapaka and his previous work stations.🔵Update🗞️Sofapaka FC announce we have parted ways with three players.Pistone Mutamba and Kepha Aswani leave after expiry of their contracts while Amissi Bizimana leaves on mutual consent. The club wishes to thank the trio for their services at the club@betikaKe@OyandoRonny pic.twitter.com/oh2bmkcXF9— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) August 10, 2021 “I will be back in the second leg and fight to win the boot. It has been my dream to sign off with the award under my belt. I had offers in the last window from AFC Leopards and Homeboyz but my focus was on finishing a course I had enrolled earlier,” he said.Aswani, a 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge winner with Harambee Stars quelled suggestion that he had silently taken the route to retirement saying his body was strong enough to enable him ply trade in the top flight for two more seasons.##NAJAVA_MECA_6000778##The former Thika United man who is keeping fit with Eastlanders FC further did not rule out the possibility of laying hands on the league crown for the second time.“I feel I have two more seasons before I officially call it a day. I also believe that the path to the podium is clear and I have what it takes to walk it. I train daily during my free time and I am looking forward to the next transfer window,” he added.
