Agent sues Tusker FC over Henry Meja transfer monies

Former Kenyan champions Tusker FC reportedly received slightly over Ksh 16 million from the transfer of fast-rising youngster Henry Meja to the Swedish club earlier this month but have allegedly refused to honor they have with Jamal Ibrahim, the agent who brokered the deal.Congratulations to Henry Meja (20) 🇰🇪 on your move to @aikfotboll.We profiled Meja back in July ahead of the CEACAFA U23 in Ethiopia. To celebrate his move to Sweden we’ve updated his data profile summarising his impressive KPL season in numbers. Kila la heri Henry. https://t.co/X0Rd8eG9BF pic.twitter.com/huNjODm5kW— East Africa Eye (@theeaeye) September 3, 2021 According to Jamal, his efforts to reach out to the club to settle the matter have been futile and he has now resorted to suing the club.“We signed an agreement with Tusker that clearly indicated how we would share the proceeds in the event I transfer any of their players to European clubs. I moved Majak to Kalmar and we had no problem. I therefore don’t understand why the club has refused to honor the agreement this time by wiring what is rightfully ours (Atotos Sports Management),” Jamal told Mozzart Sport,“I brought AIK representatives to Nairobi to scout Meja and handled all the logistics. I negotiated the deal and ensured the transfer was smooth. It is therefore very unfair for Tusker to go against our agreement by refusing to pay what is rightfully owed to the agency,” he added. When reached to comment on the matter, Tusker Chairman Daniel Aduda said the matter would be handled by the team’s legal representatives.“I have nothing to say on the matter. Our lawyers will deal with it.” He said.Henry Meja. Remember the name.Thank you for the memories, the goals and the infectious smile. All the best at @aikfotboll #KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life @TuskerLager pic.twitter.com/Uds4s7Aomt— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) September 4, 2021 Meanwhile the promising strriker is waiting for his work permit to be processed to allow him start his Swedish sojourn, hopefully in January.
