Gor Mahia’s English head coach Mark Harrison has called for his side to be a lot more clinical in front of goal as the team made their way to Congo on Friday 26 November to take on Otoho d’Oyo in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff match scheduled for Sunday 28 November in Brazzaville, Congo. The record Kenyan champions arrived in Congo two days before the match after the team hit the road in the early morning hours after their 5 am flight departure.Having successfully navigated the second preliminary round where they dispatched Al Ahly Merowe 1-3 in the first leg before getting a walkover in the second leg as the Sudanese opposition failed to show up for the return match, K’Ogalo are aiming to replicate their 2019 heroics that saw them set the record of being the first and only side to make it to the group stages of the prestigious competition.Once again Gor Mahia have traveled without any hitch. Illuminati. https://t.co/uIBfzrva36— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) November 26, 2021 Heading into the tie, Harrison has called on his side to improve on their attack if they are to enjoy the cash reward that comes with making it to the group stage of the competition.“I think we need to improve in our penetration in the final third. Defensively and in central midfield we tend to have good control of the games we have played. We just do not penetrate enough and when we do, we do not finish our chances which is a big problem. In all the games we have played, we have always allowed the opposition to stay in the game until the last whistle. We need to start being clinical and to finish off teams when we have the opportunity,” the head coach said.CAF CC: Ochieng urges Gor Mahia colleagues to embrace team work against Otoho”Going with only 16 players is not easy but we have known that all along so we have to deal with what we have. We had a couple of games in Kisumu which helped us on our way before the game. We have also had a look at the opposition and we know what we are up against. It is not going to be easy in Congo especially with the weather conditions being that it is extremely hot and humid and also very wet. It is not going to be easy but we feel confident that we can go there and get a positive result. If we can a positive result, we feel we can get the job done in Nairobi,” Harrison added🟢 | UPDATE We touched down safely in Ethiopia where we catch our flight to Brazzaville, Congo. So far so good, we thank God. #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/R0pHuXBFWQ— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) November 26, 2021 The match will take place on Sunday 28 November
