Kinyanjui promises to break goal duck when league resumes

James Kinyanjui is looking forward to opening his Wazito goal account when the Football Kenya Federation Premier League competition resumes next weekend. The attacking midfielder ditched the 2008 league champions Mathare United for Wazito in the last transfer window but had not kissed the back of the net before the break. Wazito boss Ricardo Badoer deeped into pockets in the window and head hunted arguably the best players around but the team was yet to give the desired return on investment on the pitch. Francis Kimanzi’s boys had only scored three goals in six matches and at the same time conceded ten, a run that left them in the red zone and among the three teams that had not won a game in the season.🔵 64′ | Another change for Wazito FC Goal scorer Micheal Owino is replaced by Wazito FC new newbie James KinyanjuiTalanta FC 0 Wazito FC 1#TalantavsWazito #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/I9k1SWkS0h— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) September 25, 2021 Kinyanjui said the break had given the team time and space to right the many costly errors and expressed hope in banging his first goal for the club as well as creating chances for the forwards. “Sometimes, a player can take long before settling in a new team. Thankfully I have developed good chemistry with the rest and I am certain that goals will come when the league returns. We have had time to work the areas that cost us points in the past,” he said. Kinyanjui who had previously worked under Kimanzi at Mathare said he was elated to reunite with the former Harambee Stars coach whom he tipped to guide the club to achieve its targets.##NAJAVA_MECA_28153210##” Personally, I didn’t take long in grasping his style of play as I had worked under him at Mathare. He is a top coach whom I trust will get the best out of us and will lead us to greatness,” said the former Thika United player.
