Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has cautioned his team to avoid the kind of mistakes made against Zamalek in the CAF Champions League when they take on CS Sfaxien of Tunisia in a Caf Confederation Cup match on Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium. The Brewers dropped to the second tier of Caf’s club competition after losing 5-0 on aggregate to Zamalek in two-legged first-round qualifiers. Many argue that the Brewers shot themselves on the foot on both legs. At home, they failed to take the numerous goal-scoring chances that they created before conceding immediately after the interval while in Egypt they led in easy goals from defensive and goalkeeping errors.Sfaxien stand between them and a Caf Confederation Cup group stage qualification and coach Matano who admits that they made mistakes against Zamalek says they are going to make amends. He says his team has gelled well and are ready for Sunday’s showdown.Getting ready for our Last session before tomorrow’s match. #KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/Awje6vXZwP— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) November 27, 2021 “We are prepared not to make the same mistakes which made us get punished against Zamalek. The players have gelled and I have instructed each of them to play their roles well. We are going for nothing less than a win,” Matano told the Daily Nation. The Brewers have also been boosted by the return of three players who were out for the last few weeks with injuries. Clyde Senaji, Charles Momanyi, and Kalos Kirenge all resumed training with the first team after shaking off injuries and are now available for selection against Sfaxien, young full-back Jimmy Mbugua however remains sidelined, he is currently undergoing rehab.Tusker’s opponents arrived in the country on Thursday morning and held three training sessions including the match venue test on Saturday afternoon.
