Five minutes into the second half, the Blues’ captain Jorginho was all alone in the centre circle with all the players in front of him. His attempt to trap a high ball was insecure and Jadon Sancho swooped to dispossess him and dart towards the goal. Rashford ran alongside him, providing him with an easy assist. But the former Borussia Dortmund wanted to finish the move himself and he slotted past Edouard Mendy to give his team the lead against the run of play.Chelsea were looking shell-shocked in the next ten or so minutes, but they regrouped and continued to attack. And, after a goalmouth tussle, Aaron Wan-Bissaka inexplicably kicked Thiago Silva and gifted Jorginho a chance to score from the penalty spot.
