Wanyama misses out on club MVP Award

Former Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama missed on the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at CF Montreal club’s end-of-season awards to his fellow midfielder Djordje Mihailovic who garnered a landslide 80% win.Wanyama had been nominated alongside Mihailovic as well as last season’s winner of the same award Romell Quioto. In the 2021 season, Mihailovic established himself as CF Montréal’s creative centerpiece, managing 16 assists, two short of New England Revolution’s Carles Gil who managed 18 assists to top the chart. In doing so, he surpassed the club’s season record of 13 assists previously held by Nacho Piatti in 2018 and also became the second player in Club history to play all MLS games.Djordje Mihailovic is the only American at the top of the charts in assists and chances created in MLS this year.
