Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is upbeat ahead of their return leg match against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off round tie this coming Sunday. The two teams played to a barren draw at the Nyayo National Stadium in the first leg on Sunday and Matano believes that they still have a big chance to make it to the group stages of the competition.Ahead of the game, the experienced tactician has reiterated that they will go to Tunisia with an aim to score and win the match, noting that he is a proven winner who believes in himself and in his team.“We did not win, they did not win and so the game is open. We will go there and try to score to win. I believe in myself and I believe in my team. I am a winner and we will fight to win. We are going there to enjoy the game. The more we enjoy the game, the better the possibility of scoring,” Matano told the club.Stronger team on the day.Unlucky we couldn’t find the back of the net.A clean sheet and a lot of positives to take from the game.we go again in a week’s time in Tunis.#CAFCC pic.twitter.com/QCBULV2CCf— Eugene Asike (@eugeneasike) November 29, 2021 Having played to a barren draw, Matano is of the opinion that scoring first in the match will give the Brewers the upper hand in the game as the North African team will be forced to score twice. The former AFC Leopards gaffer believes that getting an early goal advantage will ease his team into the game with a more relaxed approach, saying that he has seen how the opponent play and they are beatable.Wednesday 2245 (3.15) Genk (3.45) Club Brugge (2.25) “When we score they have to score twice and once we get a goal, I believe it will make us more relaxed. I am confident that we can do well because I have seen how they play and I know they are beatable,” he added.A scoring draw or a win of any kind will see Matano’s charges book a group stage slot while CS Sfaxien will need to win the game to make it to the next stage.Tusker will however be without left-back Hillary Wandera who suffered a dislocated elbow in the first leg clash at Nyayo Stadium and is set to be on the sidelines for at least three weeks.✈️| Getting travel ready ahead of our trip to Tunisia.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/CYymsHzo3d— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) November 30, 2021 The Brewers failed to proceed to the CAF Champions League group stages after falling 5-0 on aggregate to Zamalek SC in the second qualifying round, including a 4-0 drubbing away in Egypt.
