It was an expected win but not the convincing one. Juventus obviously had the initiative, but apart from the first half goal by Dybala, there was not much going on. Maybe it was because Allegri decided to rest some of his players, as Bonucci, Sandro and Morata started the match from the bench, while Chiellini, Pellegrini, Kuluevski and Kean all started. And it was 21st minute when the guests scored. Dybala had tried efforts from outside the box a number of times but this time, after exchanging passes with Kulusevski, his shot was unstoppable. Veteran Chiellini scored the second goal, only to be nullified due to Kean’s offside.
Since Juventus only got one goal, an equalizer was always on the cards for Salernitana, and they will be very displeased with their wasted chance in the 58th minute. The ball bounced to Ranieri in the after deflecting off Chiellini and he hit a perfect low half-volley which hit the inside of the post and then bounced across the goal to safety. After missing such a chance, Juventus came back more aggressive and finished the game with a second goal in the 70st minute, this time from Morata. Until the end, Juventus was just keeping possession, happy with the result, while the hosts didn’t have the strength to try anything. Dybala could have scored his second goal of the game in injury time, but he slipped on his own foot and missed the penalty.
