Gor Mahia have announced that two of their players will remain in quarantine in Congo for the next eight days meaning they will not play in the CAF Confederation Cup return leg match against Otoho scheduled for 5th December in Nairobi.Jules Ulimwengu and John Ochieng missed the first leg match against Otoho in Congo after they allegedly tested positive for Covid-19, claims that Gor Mahia rejected while alleging that the Congolese club had decided to weaponize the killer disease.It was expected that the two players would travel back with the team but they were detained by the Congolese authorities and will be in quarantine for the next eight days before taking another covid-19 rest, once they test negative, they will be free to travel back home.🟢 | UPDATE Our two players ( Jules & John) who ‘tested’ positive for Covid-19 in Congo will be in quarantine for 8 days before being allowed to travel back to Nairobi, Sporting Director Lordvick Aduda who is with them confirms.#Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/IWecvghS6t— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) November 29, 2021 Gor has issued a statement confirming that the two will remain detained in Congo for the next eight days. They have been left in the hands of club sporting director Lordvick Aduda.“UPDATE. The team has a lean squad of 15 players registered for the tournament. In the first leg, Ochieng and Ulimwengu sat out after testing positive for Covid while Philemon Otieno and Sydney Ochieng were injured. The managed to raise a team of 11 players and one sub in keeper Caleb Omondi.Reports indicate that skipper Harun Shakava picked an injury in the later stages of the match in Congo and Gor will be hoping that the skipper alongside Ochieng and Otieno will be ready for the second leg on Sunday.
