Retired Kenyan international goalkeeper Wycliffe Kasaya has revealed that that AFC Leopards still owe him, six years since he left the FKFK Premier League giants.Kasaya, who played for Leopards between 2014 and 2015 quit Ingwe before the expiry of his contract at the den. This came due to financial struggles that was witnessed at the club when sole sponsor, Mumias Sugar Company pulled out. After a couple of months without pay, Kasaya and a big chunk of the senior players walked out of the club. He moved to Nakumatt and later Mathare United and Sofapaka before walking out of the game that had seen him play for Sony Sugar, Gor Mahia, Bandari among other teams. The shot-stopper has now discussed his time at the den and he says Ingwe are yet to settle the dues that they owe him. He says the club is still withholding his eighth-month which he admits he will never receive.“We had one good year at Leopards and the other of pain, when Mumias pulled put things became hard. I went without pay for eight months before leaving for heading to Nakumatt. They are yet to pay me the money and I know that I will never get the money. It was a tough period because surviving without pay for eight months was not easy,” he said during the Tuchapiane Live Show. The FKF’s Independent Disciplinary and Appeals Committee dismisses Sofapaka’s appeal and orders the club to pay goalkeeper Wycliffe Odhiambo Kasaya Kshs 1,610,000 as damages for breach of contract. pic.twitter.com/8O79bVEJLv— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) December 8, 2020 Kasaya also discussed the rivalry between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards during his time at the den. During that period the two teams competed evenly. For the last five years however, Gor has been dominant in the local scene with Ingwe’s last win over their arch rivals dating back to early 2016.“We used to beat Gor Mahia with ease. We had a great team then and we would defeat Gor 3-0, 3-1. The league was strong and very competitive then, we would play and later watch the replay in the evening on tv. The derby was great then,” he added. After retiring from the game, Kasaya shifted his focus to personal business.
