Official: Free agent Ayub Timbe moves to Buriram United of Thailand

Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe has joined Thailand giants, Buriram United, the club has confirmed.Timbe, has been club-less since August 2021 when he parted ways with Vissel Kobe due to lack of playtime. The two parties agreed to mutually terminate the contract.The club has now announced the arrival of the speedy winger in a statement posted by the club on social media.“OFFICIAL. Mr. Nevin Chid, the president of Buriram United club, Launching Agesub Masika (Ayub Masika), Kenya national team joins the Thunder Castle to prepare to fight the Thai league in the 2th leg,” read part of the statement released by the club.Founded in 1970, United play their matches at the 32000-seater Chang Arena. In 2017, he moved to China joining Beijing Renhe and it is during that period that he got loaned out to English Championship side, Reading. After half a season in England, he moved to Kobe for a couple of months terminated his contract with the club.At the international level, Timbe has played for Kenya national team since 2012 with the highlight being him playing in the African Cup of Nations in Egypt in 2019. He has however been overlooked ever since. He is among the senior players who have not turned out for the national team since the tournament concluded in Cairo. Others include Victor Wanyama who has since retired, Brian Mandela, and Johanna Omolo.
