FIFA dismiss South Africa’s protest against Ghana

World football governing body FIFA have dismissed South Africa’s protest seeking to have their game against Ghana forced into a replay after Bafana Bafana had complained of the controversial refereeing decisions in the match that ended up seeing the Black Stars advance to the African World Cup playoffs.The South African Football Association (SAFA) had lodged an official complaint after some questionable refereeing decisions by Senegalese official Maguette Ndiaye, including the penalty which lead to the only goal in the match played on 14 November 2021.Breaking News:https://t.co/RGuaBYzdGY— Bafana Bafana (@BafanaBafana) November 17, 2021 A day after the match, FIFA acknowledged that they received the complaint and were looking into the matter and have now confirmed their decision made by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.“The protest lodged by South Africa has been declared inadmissible by the Disciplinary Committee as it did not meet the requirements foreseen under art. 46 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and art. 14 of the Regulations of the Preliminary Competition of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
