Most amateur golfers already struggle with bunker shots, now add in a plugged lie, and you might as well get a sleeping bag because you’re not getting out of there any time soon.
This week, Golfweek’s Director of Instruction Steve Scott is back at the beautiful Sleepy Hollow Country Club to teach you how to get out of a tricky lie in the sand.
“Really hinge your wrists, that’s really important,” Scott said. “You’re going to pick it up, and then all you’re going to do is stick it in the sand. I don’t even want a follow-through.”
Aside from leading our lessons, Scott is also the PGA head golf professional at the Outpost Club, founder of the Silver Club Golfing Society, and a PGA Tour Live analyst.
