KCB head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno is hopeful that his team can be able to pick up the league momentum from where they left it at last time out when the 2021/2022 league campaign gets back underway this weekend, according to the latest communique by the government installed Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee. After enduring a losing start to the new campaign, the 2020/2021 runners up managed to turn the tide as they recorded an unbeaten run in their next five games, drawing two before going on a three match winning streak that was temporarily halted due to the extended break that came as a result of the league suspension.Friday Session. #TGIF #Believe #LionHearted 🦁 pic.twitter.com/pkFDBZiwpk— KCB Football Club 😷 (@KCBFootball) September 10, 2021 But with activities expected to resume on Saturday 4 December after confirmation by the caretaker committee, Zico has expressed his hopes of having his side hit top gear as soon as possible despite the obvious challenge of the team lacking match fitness.“We were having a good run before the league stopped for the international break. Not only KCB but also for some teams as well. For us, I can only hope and pray that we will continue from where we left and hope to pick good results from our next opponents. We have continued with our training and preparations as normal and the only thing that will affect us is the lack of match fitness,” the former Gor Mahia assistant coach told Mozzart Sport.👏 Zico, the 2020/21 @Officialfkfpl 1st Runners Up coach of the season sharing a photo with his assistant @Godfrey02981729.Expect more accolades from this duo this coming season.#Believe #LionHearted 🦁 pic.twitter.com/RrjnQYpIce— KCB Football Club 😷 (@KCBFootball) September 15, 2021 With the positive news of the league expected to resume over the weekend, the Bankers head coach disclosed how challenging it has been to navigate through the elongated league break.“It has been difficult because as teams we had already picked up then all of a sudden we had an elongated break which we did not foresee. We only knew we were going for the international break but considering the happenings, we have had a three week break which was not good for the teams but all in all I think every team is trying very hard to make sure they get ready,” the head coach added.Ade plotting January comebackSaturday December 4Nairobi City Stars FC vs Kariobangi Sharks FC – Ruaraka GroundsBidco united FC vs AFC Leopards FC – Thika StadiumNzoia Sugar FC vs Kakamega Homeboyz FC – Sudi StadiumWazito FC vs Ulinzi Stars FC – Kasarani StadiumMathare United FC vs Talanta FC – Kasarani StadiumKenya Police FC vs Sofapaka FC – Ruaraka GroundsSunday December 5Kenya Police FC vs Sofapaka FC – Ruaraka GroundsTusker FC vs Bandari FC – Kinooru StadiumKCB FC vs Vihiga Bullets FC – Utalii Grounds
