CAF CC: Mieno upbeat ahead of CS Sfaxien showdown

Tusker FC midfielder Humphrey Mieno is confident that they will get something out of the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup Playoff match against CS Sfaxien in Tunisia on Sunday. This is the only match standing between Tusker and the group stages of the competitions after playing to a barren draw at Nyayo National Stadium last Sunday. As things stand, the Brewers will need to either win the match by any margin or secure a scoring draw to proceed to the group stages.📽️| Check out footage from our light shake down session in Sfax this morning as we get into the right gear towards Sunday’s crucial tie.https://t.co/37VULOifkV— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) December 3, 2021 Tusker arrived in Sfax last night and had a light shake-off session in the morning and another training session later in the afternoon. The experienced midfielder noted that they are psyched up and ready for the match despite the extreme cold in Tunisia and is hopeful that they will string good results to proceed.”It is very cold out here but the team is ready, the lads are prepared and psyched up for the match and ready to go. The shake-off was very important, a regeneration after the long trip. It was very vital for us to come and do a little bit of shake off and I think it has helped us a lot. We hope for good results out here. It has been long since we got good results out here but I think right now we are ready and we will get something out of it,” Mieno said. The former AFC Leopards player is also of the opinion that the game will be different compared to the one in Nairobi as both teams will be having different strategies from the first game but still maintain that they are ready to fight for the win.”I think it will be a different ball game. They are at home and are trying to get all three points to qualify and I think their strategy totally different from the way they played in Nairobi but all in all we are ready to fight and to win,” he added.📸| The team had its shake down session in cold Sfax this morning after last night’s arrival. We will have a second session in the afternoon.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/OrCvUiaaIG— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) December 3, 2021 Tusker will however be without left-back Hillary Wandera who suffered a dislocated elbow in the first leg clash at Nyayo Stadium and is set to be on the sidelines for at least three weeks.Tusker’s traveling contingentGoalkeepersPatrick Matasi, Brian Bwire, Emery MvuyekureDefendersEugene Asike, Jimmy Mbugua, Kalos Kirenge, Charles Momanyi, Daniel Sakari, Kevin MonyiMidfieldersHumphrey Mieno, Jackson Macharia, Shami Kibwana, Apolo Otieno, Teddy Osok, Clyde Senaji, Boniface Muchiri.AttackersDeogratious Ojok, Ibrahim Joshua, John Njuguna.
