Patrick Otieno came off the bench to score the winner as Kariobangi Sharks beat Nairobi City Stars 2-1 at Ruaraka Grounds to go to the top of the log with 16 points as league action resumed.Sharks could have taken the lead earlier through a well struck freekick by Steve Otieno but the left footed shot hit the post. Fortune Omoto came close in the 20th minute, dancing around City Stars defenders but his final effort from his weaker foot went over the bar. Sharks persistent attack paid off in the 24th minute from the spot after Erick Mmata was brought down in the box by Lennox Oguttu, promting the referee to point to the spot. Geoffrey Shiveka stepped up to take the resultant penalty and made no mistake, blasting it into the net to give Sharks the lead.⏹️ | Full TimeWe rake maximum points courtesy of Lemu and Pato’s strikes.#WeAreSharks #BetwaySharks pic.twitter.com/U8Eql7nmJm— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) December 4, 2021 City Stars had their chances in the first half, with Ezekiel Odera, Davis Agesa, and Oliver Maloba but none of the could make it count when it mattered most and had to go into the break trailing.Upon resumption, City Stars came back a reenergized side and stringed a couple of attacks.
