Vihiga Bullets head coach Abdallah Juma tore into his goalkeeper Richard Aimo for gifting KCB two easy goals in their 3-1 loss at the Utalii grounds on Sunday.Aimo made it easy for the KCB by committing glaring howlers that saw him last on the pitch for 45 minutes.”We played well but the goalkeeper who started the game let us down. We had planned to get positive results from the game but our plot thickened after going down easily, ” he lamented. While Juma was left with bitter taste in mouth, his KCB counterpart Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno was over the moon having masterminded his fourth successive win.”Credit to the boys for the good show. We had been out of competitive football for three weeks but they didn’t appear rusty,” he said.Going by how hard KCB pressed the gas pedal from the time Felix Ekai got the proceedings underway, it was a matter of when to break the deadlock and not if as Bullets found themselves clustered in their area in a bid to contain the pressure. The hosts freely and frequently found their way to the Bullets box but lack of precision seemingly got Zico exasperated with the wastefulness in front of the goal. Dennis Odhiambo was presented with the clearest scoring opportunity in the eleventh minute after Simon Munala picked him with a well weighted cross but the experienced left back headed wide. Two minutes later, Brian Ochieng threatened to get KCB ahead Baraka Badi squared the ball on his way but the hard drilled shot flew over the bar. What was supposed to be an harmless cross by Munala in the 26th minute yielded the opening goal for KCB after Richard Aimo gathered the ball and shockingly spilled it to James Mazembe who tapped in an empty net. A lapse in concentration would have seen KCB double the lead after Badi who was running the show on the right wing alongside Munala whipped in a low cross that slithered past the legs, finding a completely isolated Otanga who also missed the ball. Otanga thought he had made up for the miss three minutes later after he put the ball in the net by the assistant referee’s flag came to the rescue of Bullets. Aimo who was guilty of assisting the opening goal for KCB made yet another embarrassing blunder after Michael Mutinda’s harmless baby shot beat him three minutes to the half time whistle. Aimo paid heavily for his first half mistakes as he was hauled off before restart for Billy Bukhala who was welcome on the pitch by a series of shots by the forwards. The youngster did incredibly well to deny Munala in the 55th minute and gathered a goal bound shot by Henry Onyango three minutes later. However, there was little the custodian would have done to deny Otanga from plundering home the third goal from close range in the 69th minute. Two minutes after putting the results beyond the reach of Bullets, Zico threw in the duo of Mohamed Kilume and Michael Oduor for Ochieng and Munala respectively. Bullets made their first change in the 72nd minute where Michael Isabwa and Patrick Okulo paved way for Jessy Kajuba and Kevin Sagida respectively. The latter would poke home the consolation goal for the visitors in the 90th minute. With eight minutes to play, Zico added more punch upfront after withdrawing Onyango and Mazembe for David Owino and Victor Ochami.
