This was no Sunday league, this was not a battle between the first and the last team on the table, there were no penalties or red cards, it was just a game between two Bundesliga teams: Borussia Monchengladbach and Freiburg. And yet, after only 37 minutes, the visitors scored an unbelievable 6 goals, while Borussia’s coach Addie Hutter already made two changes, after 25 minutes. In the end, he was lucky his team didn’t received more: Borussia – Freiburg 0:6.25- SC Freiburg has become the first away team in BL history to score five goals in the first 25 minutes. Before that, only Gladbach had managed this at home against Braunschweig in October 1984. While he was in charge of Frankfurt, he lost 6-1 in Leverkusen in May 2019, and all of those goals fell inside the opening 36 minutes. The problem is, with Frankfurt, he had to build the team from the beggining and he did a good job, because they finished fifth last season, just narrowly missing the Champions League, while here, he already had a strong squad, ready to fight for a European spot this season. Borussia has a number of German, France and Swiss internationals in their team, they kept the same squad which played in the Champions League last season, but this season, it’s not ’clicking’ at all. After 14 rounds, Hutter’s first season in Monchengladbach is not going according to the plan, as The Colts are in 13th place, just 5 points above the relegation zone. The only positive thing for the home fans is that Hoffenheim, who currently hold the Europa League spot is also only 5 points away.6 goals in 35 first-half minutes for Freiburg against Borussia Mönchengladbach. pic.twitter.com/H2EoQeXvse— Tom Carnduff (@TomC_22) December 5, 2021 Tonight’s game resembled a bit on that famous 5-0 win over Bayern in the Cup, when Borussia was leading 3-0 after only 21 minutes, but this time, the roles have changed and the Colts were on the receiving end. Freiburg just scored on every single attack, whatever they did, the goals just kept coming. In the second half, Borussia wanted to attack, but didn’t want to risk conceding the seventh goal, so in the end, the score from the 37th minute stayed the same after 90 minutes. There is still hope for Monchengladbach and their quest for European football, but the problem is, they currently have no identity, no tactics and no consistency. Will they decide to part ways with Hutter already after this debacle, just like Leipzig did today with Jesse Marsch? We’ll soon find out.BUNDESLIGA – ROUND 14FridayUnion Berlin – RB Leipzig 2-1 (1-1)/Awoniyi 6, Baumgartl 57 – Nkunku 13/SaturdayBielefeld – Koln 1-1 (0-1)/Lasme 59 – Ozcan 17/Augsburg – Bochum 2-3 (0-3)/Gregoritsch 57, Caligiuri 86 pen – Polter 23, 45+2, Holtmann 40/Mainz – Wolfsburg 3-0 (2-0)/Burkardt 2, Stach 4, Lacroix 90 og/Hoffenheim – Eintr.Frankfurt 3-2 (2-1)/Geiger 24, Rutter 30, Samassekou 59 – Borre 15, Paciencia 72/Leverkusen – Greuther Furth 7-1 (3-1)/Adli 12, Tapsoba 17, Hincapie 45, Schick 49, 69, 74, 76/Dortmund – Bayern 2-3 (1-2)/Brandt 5, Haaland 48 – Lewandowski 9,77, Coman 44/SundayStuttgart – Hertha 2-2 (2-1)/Marmoush 15, Forster 19 – Jovetic 40, 76/M’ gladbach – Freiburg 0-6 (0-6)/Eggstein 2, Schade 5, Lienhart 12, Hofler 19, Holer 25, Schlotterbeck 37/
