Ulinzi Stars head coach Stephen Ochola has admitted that Wazito were the better side in the first half of his side’s 1-0 defeat in the hands of the Francis Kimanzi led outfit on Saturday afternoon at the Utalii Grounds. The Soldiers suffered their first defeat of the season in the hands of Wazito who coincidentally got their first triumph of the campaign. Amos Asembeka’s first-half volley is all Wazito needed to pick three precious points and in the process moved from the red zone in the FKF Premier League log.Wazito were dominant for the better part of the game but it is in the first half that they totally outclassed Ochola’s charges. Ulinzi showed improvement after the interval but still could find a way past the Wazito backline. In his post-match interview, Ochola hinted that the one-month break could have affected his team’s consistency in the league. He further admitted that Wazito were superior in the game, particularly in the first half.”It’s our first defeat, and no one loves losing matches. I have a feeling that this break has derailed us in some way and it had worked out to the advantage of the opponents (Wazito) and other teams maybe but we have picked positive points from it and I know that we will get back to winning ways,” he stated. We eat teams because we are WAZITO#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/WkQSUwLnLv— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) December 4, 2021 Ochola further attributed his team’s second-half rise to the realization that they had played badly in the first half and the urge to get something out of the duel.”Wazito were the better side in the first and credit to them for that, they played very good football. In the second half, my players realized that they had played poorly in the second half and they upped their game. They came back knowing that we had to get something out of this match and that is what pushed them,” he added. On areas that they need to improve on, Mwalala said they have to fine-tune their finishing and creation of goal-scoring opportunities.”The only thing that we ought to improve on is in the attack. We need to create more opportunities and score goals,” he added.Next for the Soldiers is a match against Tusker FC.
