Mogaka credits dutiful parents for seeing him through injury hell

Bidco United attacking midfielder Emmanuel Mogaka has singled out his parents to thank for helping him bear the pain that tags along with being deprived of active football. Mogaka returned to the pitch last weekend after almost eleven months out and had an instant impact as his goal from the spot was enough to condemn AFC Leopards to their fifth successive defeat at Thika Stadium.The former Mumbi Nationale forward who was thrown in the second half stepped up to send Levis Opiyo the wrong way after Joachim Oluoch hacked Alex Juma down in the box in the full glare of centre referee Zacharia Ashira.Bidco skin Ingwe in ThikaMogaka was in full praises to his parents Charles Nyabuti and Mary Bosibori for offering him a warm shoulder for the time he was sidelined.The former FC Talanta suffered a knee injury in January while in action against Wazito at Utalii grounds and after months of rehabilitation, he was cleared after passing the all the fitness tests.The former national U23 player had earlier been cleared to play in August but was unfortunate to aggravate the injury at a time when he was nearing full recovery.Match Update | 26’Emmanuel Mogaka goes down injured and the team doctor enters the field of play to attend to him. Suffering a career threatening injury is one of the biggest nightmares players hope not to encounter but I am glad I pulled through. The team was there for me but the role my parents played was immense. They literally did everything for me and kept on encouraging me and it goes without saying that the goal I scored against Leopards goes to them,” he said.Meanwhile, Mogaka says he is aiming at finding his way to the starting team and delivering more goals to the club that is in its second season in the top flight. His goal send them to the eleventh spot with nine points garnered from seven rounds.
