Gor Mahia have endured a spell of mixed results in the past two seasons with former midfielder Kevin Ade Omondi opining that their recruitment is partly to blame for their struggles. The midfielder had two separate stints at K’Ogalo enjoying trophy-laden seasons with the ‘Green Army’ including the 2013 title that ended an 18-year wait for a league crown.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Ade noted that K’Ogalo have recently struggled because their requirement of foreigners has been wanting. Adding to the list of players who have played for both sides… Kevin ‘Ade’ Omondi is another one. 74′ Gor Mahia 3 Tusker 2 #GORTUS #Sirkal pic.twitter.com/eYjp5j8VOa— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) August 31, 2019 “During my time we had a good squad because if you look at last season, Gor Mahia signed foreigners who were on the bench,”“Back then we had Walusimbi, Kagere and Tuyisenge who were all starters. I think their scouting team did not do a good job last season which has led to them not performing well,” said Ade.Last season Gor Mahia signed Malawian midfielder Andrew Malisero, Abdoul Karim, Betrant Konfor, Tito Okello and Jules Ulimwengu with only the latter being the remnant to date. Ade also opened up on coaches who have had an impact on his career noting that Charles ‘Korea’ Omondi and Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno played key roles over the years.⚽⚽⚽#KPLTransfers.Kevin ‘Ade’ Omondi moves from K’ogallo and joins the brewers on a 2 year deal. pic.twitter.com/moo8WujJOw— Mozzart Bet Kenya (@mozzartbetkenya) December 7, 2018 “When I was growing up I would say Korea had the greatest impact in my career but later on it was Zico. When I joined Gor I was still young and the tactician helped me.Matano has also had an impact on my career because he is like a father figure with sound advice, I would also mention (Zdravko) Logarušić who was also key to my confidence,” added Ade.
