Wazito FC head coach Francis Kimanzi has backed youngster Erickson Mulu to become a better player at the club after his impressive show against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday at the Utalii Grounds.Kimanzi’s charges finally registered their first triumph of the season with a win over the Soldiers. Amos Asembeka’s first-half volley is all Wazito needed to pick their first three points of the season and in the process ended Ulinzis unbeaten run in the FKF Premier League this season. It was an all-around top performance from the Wazito and Mulu, who joined the club at the start of the season from Spanish side, FC Malaga City was one of the stand-out performers in the match. He for the first time this season started as a left-back. He was solid defensively and enterprising going forward. He nearly found the back of the net late on but Ulinzi keeper James Saruni pulled a huge save to deny him before he got hooked off in stoppage time.16’Erickson Mulu with a pin-point delivery from the left wing, Amos Asembeka connects but his header lacks direction and rolls out for a corner kick.0-0#Wazito4life— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) December 4, 2021 His performance caught the eye of many who were full of praise for him during and after the match but his coach took a more cautious approach in evaluating his performance. The tactician also noted that the youngster can get better.“It was above average performance for him because he is still young, he has some excellent ball skills and we can only guide him. The most important thing is that he is so welcomed and accepted by the group and the tactics of the team and I think that we only need to push him more because there is something that he can develop more than what I am seeing,” he stated. Mulu and Wazito will once again be in action on Wednesday in a league match against Sofapaka in Wundanyi where they seek to build on the triumph over the Soldiers.
