Former Sofapaka goalkeepers’ trainer John Waw has crossed over to Tanzania and joined the top-flight side, Kagera Sugar FC in a similar capacity, Mozzart Sport can report.Waw, who left Sofapaka just a month ago moves to Tanzania where he will link up with his former coach John Baraza who is currently in charge of the Millers. The pair worked together at the now-defunct Chemelil Sugar FC during Waw’s active days.“It is true; I am now in charge of Kagera Sugar FC. When he hang his boots in 2019 after undergoing a knee operation, he started his coaching career at Division One club, Soy United before moving to Sofapaka in September 2020, he lasted at Batoto ba Mungu for a year before he got replaced by Sunil Shah.This will be the first time that Waw will be working outside the Kenyan borders and the trainer is excited and looking forward to the new journey.“This is my first job outside Kenya and I am definitely excited to try out a new environment and culture. The Tanzanian league is doing well at the moment and I now want to watch it from within. I am really looking forward to doing well here with the team and hopefully win something here,” he added.He joins a Kagera side that has let in six goals in seven league matches so far and currently sit in 12th position in the log with eight points. Kagera is also home to Harambee Stars left-back, Bolton Omwenga.
