Casa Mbungo to test enterprising Bandari’s title credentials against serial champions Gor Mahia

Having come up shot in the 2018 and 2018-2019 season, Bandari head coach Andre Casa Mbungo is looking to test his side’s title credentials when they take on record champions Gor Mahia on Sunday. The Dockers emerged runners up in the two seasons to Gor Mahia who were eventual champions but fell off the pace in the last two seasons.pic.twitter.com/joRPap98Wx— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) December 9, 2021 Mbungo earmarked their next two encounters against Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks which he hopes to use as a yardstick to their title ambitions. “We are working to better our fitness, we are playing against Gor on Sunday, we are both on good form and after that, we return home to play against Sharks. Both teams are good and if you want to win the league you have to win against them, it is a measure of your ambitions,”“If we win these two games it will help us move forward on the log because our competitors are pulling away, Homeboyz are on 17 points and we are 14 points which is a bit far and we have to look for these points when we go away,” said Mbungo.Bandari settled for a barren draw against KCB on Thursday to extend their unbeaten run to four games and are hoping their high profile signings in the off transfer window will bolster their title hopes. The Dockers signed Andrew Juma, Faraj Ominde, Whyvonne Isuza, Chris Ochieng, Rodgers Aloro and Boniface Mwangemi among others. Scoreless in Mombasa: @BandariOfficial deny @KCBFootball the opportunity to go top of the table📸Bandari FC Media#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/EqqLWKlFKH— FKFcaretaker (@FKFcaretaker) December 9, 2021 Mbungo provided an injury update on Abdalla Hassan and balmed match fitness on their struggles in the game against KCB.“We have an injury to Abdalla but he will be back soon, the result (against KCB) was neither good nor bad because we have stayed more than a month without playing and the match fitness was a bit wanting,”“Last season was the same, we had close to two months without football due to Covid-19 and we struggled to regain our fitness,” added Mbungo.
