Ken Kenyatta attributes his vast touchline experience in the top-flight to FC Talanta’s explosive start to life in Football Kenya Federation Premier League.Talanta are gracing top tier football for the first time ever in their history and have mustered very respectable results despite a lowly tag they wore coming in.Since their promotion from the National Super League where they were crowned champions last season, Talanta have surpassed reasonable expectations. In the opening eight games, the 2019/2020 NSL Champions have won four games, drawn three and only lost once. In that run, performances that have included draws against Francis Kimanzi’s Wazito, last season league runners up KCB, stubborn Ulinzi Stars and a remarkable 1-2 victory against reigning champions Tusker.Currently, before matchday nine, the team sits in 15th place on 15 points, only two behind log leading Gor Mahia who have played a game less. Kenyatta, previously in charge at Ushuru FC, highlighting that he is no stranger to the league.“In terms of the team, yes FC Talanta is a newly promoted outfit in the league, but as a coach, I am not new in the premier league,” the coach told Mozzart Sport.Despite starting the season on such a strong footing, the experienced coach is not distracted by the league position they are currently in. Nonetheless, he has credited his team for where they are because of the hard work they show in matches.”I am not looking at the position of the team. I just want to win one game at a time. The position will come later because if I start looking at it now, I will lose track of what we want to do. I however have to say that I am impressed of the start we have had because we really work hard for it and we deserve it,” the coach added.On Sunday, FC Talanta will take on Posta Rangers in their next league fixture.
