Sharks skipper rues lapses in concentration for their recent rough patch

Chronic lapses in concentration have cost Kariobangi Sharks six points from the last two league matches, skipper Eric Juma has lamented.Sharks who shortly after the Football Kenya Federation caretaker committee gave the resumption of the league the greenlight were vying to go top were sunk 3-1 by Kenya Police five days ago at Kasarani Annex and were on the receiving end of a similar beating by Nzoia Sugar last weekend at Sudi Stadium.Juma said the two teams overpowered them after making good use of their loss of focus at the crucial stages of the matches.24′ Lennox Ogutu hacks Eric Mmata in the area, a penalty is awarded which Eric Juma converts.City Stars 0-1 Kariobangi Sharks#FKFPL— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) December 4, 2021 Against Police, Sharks were on the verge of plundering home the second goal after cancelling out Clinton Kinanga’s opener but ended up conceding the second goal from a well calculated counterattack move. Their efforts to salvage a point from the game were punished in almost a similar fashion.##EDITORS_CHOICE##The versatile player who can slot as a right back and in the midfield said the two matches helped expose their weakness in committing more numbers forward in a bid to chase for the match winning goals and will approach the subsequent rounds with more caution.“I feel we were punished in the two matches for exposing the defence too much especially when we go forward in search for goals. We have not been concentrating from the first whistle to the last one and we have to erase out the repetitive blunder before we play our next game,” he said.78’| Yellow card @k_sharksfc Eric Juma is Cautioned for his challenge on MarvinAFC 0-1 Sharks#AFCvsSharks#BKPL pic.twitter.com/nchBxyfjEe— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) June 30, 2021 With Sharks set to face Bandari who have also not won in their last two matches, Juma also highlighted the need to rekindle their fading scoring touch having netted two goals in as many matches.Bandari have also endured goal drought as they played KCB and Gor Mahia to barren draws in their last two matches.
