Patrick Aussems not surprised by Ingwe’s poor run

AFC Leopards tactician Patrick Aussems says the bad patch by his side was inevitable going by what transpired at the club between the end of the previous campaign and the close of the transfer window.Ingwe lost a host of key players and could not find the right replacements on time as they were serving a transfer ban which was not lifted early enough to allow them to get options on the transfer market, thus had to settle for the players who were available. Means we are on the right way! But they got 3 points 🥴… now we really need to recruit strikers to solve our offensive opportunities but that’s the job of the board ! pic.twitter.com/ezXAP4CEO6— Patrick Aussems (@PatrickAussems) October 20, 2021 The coach further highlighted the win against Posta Rangers to break their five-match losing streak, noting that it came in at a very opportune moment when the players needed just that to ease the pressure.”I don’t understand why people were surprised that we suffered five defeats in a row. We lost 16 players and some players came hours before the transfer window was closed. We worked with a lot of young players and it takes time. I knew it was possible to go through that stage of five games in a row but I know my team very well and they are also capable of winning five games in a row. The victory (against Posta Rangers) was so important because the players were a little bit under pressure,” Aussems said. When, with your very young squad, you work all the week on your defensive organization and you see your players respecting perfectly the instructions so that your opponent is not able to create any opportunity it’s a great satisfaction for the coach !
