The government-installed Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee led by retired justice Aaron Ringera has confirmed that it will pay out the same amount to teams in the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) compared to their male compatriots plying their trade in the top-flight league and the second tier National Super League (NSL).At the start of December, the caretaker committee that was formed to oversee footballing activities in the country in place of the disbanded FKF agreed to give a support funding of Ksh300,000 to top-flight teams and Ksh250,000 to teams in the NSL.“We received your requests for funding from FKF Caretaker Committee to help with some logistics of resumption of league fixtures. We note, however, that because of the limited resources available at this moment in time, for a start the FKF Caretaker Committee has agreed that it will provide Ksh300,000 for each of the Premier League Clubs and Ksh250,000 for each of the National Super League football clubs,” part of the earlier statement read.Financially stricken clubs yet to receive money from FKF caretaker committeeIn a press conference convened on Tuesday at Nyayo National Stadium, Anthony Isayi, treasurer of the committee, confirmed that top-flight clubs and division one teams from the women’s side will also enjoy the same benefits.“The caretaker committee announced Ksh300,000 to the Premier League clubs and Ksh250,000 to the NSL clubs.
