Tusker chairman Daniel Aduda has confirmed that the club’s creative midfielder Jackson Macharia will renew his stay at Ruaraka for a third stint in January. Macharia is currently a free agent after running down his contract last month and according to Aduda, his decision to extend his stay with the reigning champions will be sealed early next year after the two parties reached an agreement.Tusker honchos are understood to have enticed Macharia to the negotiations table after his previous deal elapsed but are yet to determine the longevity of the contract they will give him.Despite being out of contract, Macharia was kind enough to play for the club when they took on Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in a CAF Confederation Cup playoff return leg on December 5, a match that was his last in the yellow and black robes.🎥| Jackson Macharia goal for @tusker_fc against @KCBFootball From the bench to rescue a point for the brewers🔥🔥#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/ZaLMXSutdo— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) August 30, 2021 “He is expected to put pen to paper next month. We had successful negotiations with him and agreed to extend his stay. We had proposed that he signs the deal as soon as possible but he requested the office to be a little bit patient with him until the new year. This will also give us an opportunity to consult internally on the number of years we will give him,” he said.Macharia joined the brewers in 2016 from Thika United on a three-year contract and was lucky enough to win a double in his maiden season at the club as Tusker won both the league and the Cup. The Kenyan international who renewed his deal in 2019 played a crucial role in last season’s title triumph that he capped with the Midfielder of the Year runner up award. At the same time, Aduda affirmed their commitment in footing Hillary Wandera’s medical bills and extending his contract.
