Zico: We are on the right path

KCB head coach Zedekiah Otieno says it is too early to label his side as title contenders but admits that his team is currently on the ‘right path. The Bankers currently top the FKF Premier League log with 21 points, a slot that they could lose on Thursday should Kakamega Homeboyz, who are joint top but with an inferior goal-difference manage to avoid defeat against Tusker FC at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. The Bankers did not start the season too well in the opening couple of games but they are currently the most in-form team with six wins and a draw in their last seven league assignments. They narrowly missed out on the league title last season as a slip up in the final games saw them hand Tusker the title, they lost it to the Brewers by just a single point and based on the off-season recruitment that they made, the former Gor Mahia tactician is keen on winning his first-ever league title as head coach after bagging a couple during his days as a Gor Mahia player.FKF Premier League FixtureKakamega Homeboyz vs Tusker FC – Bukhungu Stadium 3:00pmHomeboys are level on points with league leaders KCB. He says the goal is always to improve with each passing match day, he adds that they are currently on the right path but he is cautious of title talks at this stage.“We always want to improve ourselves, from one game to the next game, from position to position, from these points to the next and our approach is that of one game at a time. Right now it is too early to talk about winning the league but I can say that we are currently on the right path, we are on course of meeting our objectives of the season,” he stated.Next for KCB is a home match against Nzoia Sugar FC.
