Former Harambee Stars assistant coach Frank Ouna says former Gor Mahia head coach Frank Nutall should be considered for the vacant Harambee Stars coaching role. The national team is currently without a head coach following the expiry of Engin Firat’s contract with the national side in November. The Turkish-German tactician’s contract with the national team will not be extended and some foreign coaches have been linked with the national team job.Among those linked with Stars job is Adel Amrouche who was in charge of the national team between 2013 and 2014 and won the 2013 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup with Stars. Adel is currently without a job after parting ways with the Botswana national team in June 2021.The other is former Gor Mahia coach Vaz Pinto who parted with the Kenyan giants in July and is currently serving as an assistant coach at Portuguese side CD Nacional. Pinto who previously served as St. George FC coach has also been touted as a possible Firat replacement and is said to be keenly interested in the job.Harambee Stars defender Joash Onyango was on target as Simba SC beat KMC FC 4-1 in the Tanzanian Premier League on Friday#RadullLive #KenyansAbroad pic.twitter.com/E6eZUbySlx— @RadullLive (@radulllive) December 25, 2021 Ouna, who is currently in charge of Rwandese side, Musanze has thrown Nutall’s name in the mix. The former Wazito FC, KCB and Mathare United coach believes that the Englishman is good enough to handle the national side. Nutall is best remembered for leading Gor Mahia to the title in 2015 by going all season unbeaten in the local scene.“There is a coach who won KPL unbeaten. The fact that he is continually overlooked when discussions for Harambee Stars job are up, is the biggest injustice and disrespect south of Sahara,” the tactician posted on Facebook on Sunday morning. It is yet not clear as to when the FKF Caretaker Committee will settle on the new head coach and with Stars not in action anytime soon, that is a matter that could be handled later.
