Kenyan coaches suffer defeats in Tanzania

Kenyan coaches Patrick Odhiambo and Francis Baraza both suffered defeats in the Tanzanian Premier League on Sunday evening when their sides Biashara United and Kagera Sugar went down to Yanga SC and Tanzania Prisons respectively.Odhiambo, who is in charge of United lost 2-1 to Yanga despite getting an early lead in that game. Former Sony Sugar FC midfielder Green Atupele had given Biashara a second-minute lead before Congolese striker Fiston Mayele Kalala drew Yanga level in spectacular fashion with an overhead kick three minutes before the break. Kenyan pair of Saphan Oyugi and Baron Oketch were not used in the game. United are now 15th in the table with eight points after eight rounds of league matches. Next for them is an away match against Namungo on 30th December. Much of their tribulations has been attributed to financial challenges that has bewildered the team that participated in the CAF Confederation Cup months ago.Baraza’s Millers suffered a shocking defeat at home against Prisons at the Kaitaba Stadium. Kagera dominated the game before a sucker-punch from Marco Mhilu 12 minutes from time condemned them to an unforeseen defeat. Kenyan international Bolton Omwenga was among the subs in the game. Kagera are 13th in the log with ten nine points after ten rounds of league matches. Next for Kagera is a match against Kagera Sugar, a match that will pit the Kenyan coaches against each other.
