Zoo FC head coach Herman Iswekha believes his team will benefit from National Super League’s three-week break as it will give his injured players a chance to recover from injuries. The former FKF Premier League side is currently winless five matches into the new season. They have drawn matches and lost one of the games and are currently 15th in the log with four points. With the league taking a break, the long-serving coach believes that his team will benefit from the break and hopes to have all his troops back for the match against MCF scheduled for 9th January at the Thika Sub-County Stadium“This break is good for us because we have so many injuries which fortunately are all short-term and I believe when the league resumes in January we will have a full house and we will be in a better position to compete and start getting wins,” he told Mozzart Sport.Iswekha attributed the winless run in the league to injury setbacks that his team has been experiencing.#fcukzoo#magicalkericho #MARZOO pic.twitter.com/05OnEwiX9P— Zoo FC (@zoofootballclub) December 19, 2021 “It has been a difficult start largely because of injuries. We have had so many injury setbacks in this period and that means we have not been able to have a consistent starting XI because a play is in this week, next he is out and that is a challenge from a coach’s perspective. We have had to rely on the young players who most have not league experience and I think they have so far done well and with more matches, they will definitely get better,” he stated.Kericho Green Stadium has been a fortress for the team over the years but this season is proving to be different. Zoo have played two home games, lost one, and drew the other and the gaffer says they have to regain their home advantage.“We have played two games at home, lost one, and drew one. Our home has always been a fortress and the players understand how important it is to win game at home. With home supporters behind us, I believe we will reestablish our home advantage,” he concluded.
