Omolo with an assists in Kocaelispor’s draw with Kasimpasa

Kenyan international Johanna Omolo’s assist was not enough as 10-man Kocaelispor suffered a 5-3 defeat against Kasimpasa in the Fifth Round of the Turkish Cup.This was Omolo’s third game after ending his first-team exile that saw him train with the club’s under 23 side after reports of falling out with the management.Kocaelispor suffered a torrid start to the game as Mortadha Ben Ouanes broke the deadlock after just four minutes of action to put Kasimpasa ahead. 📣 MAÇ SONUCUKasımpaşa 5-3 Kocaelispor#KASvKS pic.twitter.com/jFjMdmmnLk— Kocaelispor (@Kocaelispor) December 28, 2021 Benhur Keser restored parity for Kocaelispor five minutes before the break as he held his nerve to convert a spot-kick to send his side into break with a 1-1 stalemate. Kasimpasa had a mirror start to the second half as this time it took five minutes to restore their lead through Ahmet Engin who was set up by Valentin Eysseric.Omolo however came alive in the 68th minute when he provided his first assist since April, putting the ball on a plate for Michael Pereira to draw Kocaelispor level again.Pereira was however send of after quick-fire yellow cards within the space of a minute with nine minutes left on the clock as the clash went to extra-time.Kasimpasa again retook the lead in the 101st minute through Tarkan Serbest as Omolo was rested with a minute to spare in the first half of extra time for Mevlut Celik.📣 MAÇ SONUCUKasımpaşa 5-3 Kocaelispor#KASvKS pic.twitter.com/jFjMdmmnLk— Kocaelispor (@Kocaelispor) December 28, 2021 Alpay Celebi however turned the ball into his own net to extend Kasimpasa’s lead just seconds after the resumption of the second half extra time. Kocaelispor refused to go down without a fight as Benhur Keser netted in the 110th minute to set up a tense finale to the clash. The game was however put to bed in the 116th minute courtesy of a goal from Yusuf Erdogan who hammered the final nail in Kocaelispor’s coffin.
