(@beebree0) December 28, 2021 The Daniel Arunga-coached side is coming off a 2-1 shock victory over league champions Thika Queens on 28 December 2021, their first win in the top tier league and the tactician says confidence in camp is on an all-time high. In their first match in the top tier league against rivals Wadadia FC, Bunyore soaked in six goals with the tactician blaming it largely on poor goalkeeping. “Against Thika, we had rectified our mistakes in goalkeeping and knowing how they play, we pressed them more and they caved. My players executed well all that we had been planning for in training since the Wadadia match but there is still room for improvement.⚽️|WPL newbies Bunyore Starlets received a baptism of fire welcome to the top tier league as they lost 6-0 to rivals Wadadia FcNext they face reigning champions Thika Queens and their head coach Arunga knows where the focus should beFull Story📩#WPLhttps://t.co/XjfwsIi882— Mozzart Sport Kenya (@MozzartSportKe) December 22, 2021 Our finishing needs some work. We need to take all the chances we get to score those goals as that is the only way we can win matches,” said Arunga. The WPL debutants face a Nakuru side that stunned Wadadia 3-0 in the second round of matches on 28 December 2021.”I had a chance to watch them play last season and I know they are a good side. The match will be no walk in the park. We have talked to the players, urged them to draw inspiration in having defeated the league champions but not to be too confident as to become complacent on the pitch. He continued; ”The battle will be in the midfield and flanks against Nakuru. They have a solid mid and speedy wingers so if we can counter that we stand a chance to bag maximum points again.” Vivian Airo will marshall the midfield alongside Diana Dayo and Juliana Kaupe. “Airo brings alot of experience in the middle and she is able to dictate the pace and lead the teams creativity. The other two are able to hold and inject pace when need be,” the tactician explained adding that if they take all the chances they create, they should be home and dry. Further, the tactician exuded confidence in his goalkeeping department saying that the first match mistakes were a result of nerves, being new to the top tier league.
