Four players against Lukaku, meeting with Tuchel today

An unexpected crisis in Chelsea, caused by an unnecessary Romelu Lukaku’s interview for Sky Sport Italia should be ended (or at least that’s what everybody is hoping for) today or tomorrow, when a meeting with the player and coach Thomas Tuchel should take place. After the interview, the German tactician admitted he wasn’t happy with the player’s interview and Lukaku’s omission from the very important Liverpool match soon followed. The Belgian striker replied and erased Chelsea from his official FB page, which is a move he is yet to explain. Luckily for the fans, the meeting should take place today, so the situation can get back to normal as soon as possible (if it can be repaired). 🚨 Romelu Lukaku is a little surprised at the negative reaction to his interview. His intention was not to start pushing for a Chelsea departure.(Source: @DeanJonesSoccer) pic.twitter.com/RFD808iYZL— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) January 3, 2022 As reported by Calciomercato.com, Lukaku will meet with Tuchel today to discuss the situation and if he’ll be able to join the squad for the Carabao Cup match against Tottenham on Wednesday. Also, ss reported by The Athletic, Jorginho, Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger are amongst the small group of players who met with coach Tuchel to express their frustration with his comments and they agreed to condemn Lukaku’s statements, as well as give their approval on his decision to drop the Belgian for the match against Liverpool. One source told the British news outlet that “I was speaking to one of the players and asked him if anyone was sticking up for Lukaku. He said no. None of them can believe he’s done it”. Things are about to get nasty: Lukaku removes Chelsea from his FB bioThe Belgian has not been a good ‘soldier’ so far in his various clubs, yet that was not enough for Chelsea’s brass to think twice before giving Lukaku a huge deal, which is now impossible to recoup in a form of a transfer or a loan.  Basically, the Belgian was moaning about the lack of playing time since his first stint with Chelsea, and even refused to hold the Champions League trophy, won under Roberto Di Matteo. His relationship with Jose Mourinho, who returned to coach Chelsea soon got sour and he was loaned to Everton where he thrieved under his current Belgium coach Roberto Martinez. When he signed for Manchester United, he again bumped into Mourinho, and the arrival of Solskjaer didn’t change the situation. He was again seeking more playing time, while the Norwegian thought that the player was a little egotistical. He was tired of the Belgian’s constant demands for more playing time and sold him to Inter, where Antonio Conte got the best out of him, but even the Italian coach again noted his need for a supportive environment and positive reinforcement. And after only four months in Chelsea, again problems over playing time. We’ll see how this one will end.
