The forward line in Arsenal currently consists of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Folarin Balogun, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli. Out of those six forwards, Nicolas Pepe is a winger and Folarin Balogun is just at the beginning of his career and played only twice this season. That leaves us with Lacazette, Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli, who is playing as a winger for a couple of games now. So far, Lacazette hasn’t renewed with Arsenal (and likely won’t at all), as well as Nketiah (and they are both free agents in June), while Aubameyang has been ‘on ice’ and will probably leave in January. If the Gunners decide to cash in on Lacazette and Nketiah in order to prevent them from walking out for nothing in June, they could end up with zero recognized strikers in February, which is, off course, unacceptable. That’s while Edu and Mikel Arteta are looking towards Spain and La Liga. Worst of the best in 2021: Relegation tickets booked, but it’s not the only embarrassment they should worry aboutAlexander Isak, the Swedish striker is their next transfer target, after it became obvious that Dušan Vlahović won’t come to the Emirates Stadium. Cash-strapped Barcelona are also after the player, and nobody knows how is that possible, considering that they are in financial crisis and yet managed to sign Torres for 7 billion Ksh and are after Alvaro Morata. But, Arsenal are in pole position simple because they have more money, and more importantly, are not in La Liga. Real Sociedad have a great opportunity to finish fourth in Spain and they want to use Barcelona’s crisis for their own gain, and won’t be willing at all to sell Isak to the Catalonians. But, since the Swede is their second scorer with 7 goals in 22 appearances, the question is also: will they sell Isak to anybody in January?
