Title chasing Kakamega Homeboyz set for tricky test against wily Talanta

Kakamega Homeboyz will be seeking to further stretch their advantage at the top of the FKF Premier League when they host a stubborn FC Talanta side at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Tuesday afternoon. The Bernard Mwalala-led team currently tops the log with 25 points after 11 rounds of league matches. They are also the only remaining unbeaten side in the league and in Talanta, they face a tricky side that has managed wins over teams like Tusker FC, and managed to pick a point against KCB, and AFC Leopards.Bukhungu has proved to be a slaughterhouse for the hosts this season and Talanta will be keen on changing that narrative by beating the league leaders at their backyard, a task that is definitely not going to be a light one. Both teams played out to draws in their last games; Homeboyz was held to a 2-2 draw by AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium while in Kasarani Talanta and Kariobangi Sharks shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. This will be the first-ever top-flight meeting between the two sides and expectedly it could be a closely fought one as coach Ken Kenyatta leads his team to Kakamega seeking to end Homeboyz’s unblemished record.Today’s FKF PL FixturesKakamega Homeboyz vs FC Talanta-BukhunguKenya Police FC vs Vihiga Bullets-Ruaraka Mathare United vs KCB-Kasarani Sofapaka vs Bandari-Wundanyi Ulinzi Stars vs Bandari -ASK, Nakuru#FKFPL 📸 @FcHomeboyz pic.twitter.com/OU1CKyqaI6— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) January 4, 2022 Sofapaka vs BandariIn Wundayi, in-form Sofapaka will host Bandari FC at their Wundayi backyard. Since the league resumed, Batoto ba Mungu have been in great form. They have played five matches, won three, and registered two draws, coincidentally the team has been on a good run under assistant coach David Ouma with the head coach Ken Odhiambo away on compassionate leave. The Dockers on the other hand have played four matches, from which they have picked three draws and a win and they will be keen on making it two wins in a row when they make a short trip to Wundanyi for the match against the 2009 champions. Last season the two teams played out to a two-all draw in the first leg before the Dockers won 2-1 in the return leg staged at their Mbaraki backyard.
