Top ten at stake as Tusker host Bidco at Ruaraka

Defending Champions Tusker will be looking to leap into the top ten of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) table when they host Bidco United on Wednesday 5 January at Ruaraka grounds. The brewers who go into the match brimming with confidence following their 4-1 win over Mathare United in the last match are placed 12th on the log with 13 points and a win will see them leapfrog Ulinzi Stars and Kenya Police who are ahead of them by two points.Robert Matano’s charges who have two matches in hand got off the blocks in a relatively slow pace but appeared to have started gathering steam thanks to the chemistry levels in the squad.Among the reasons highlighted for the poor start was the decision by the technical bench to ring wholesome changes in the squad that won the title last season.Given the limited time teams were granted for the pre-season preparations, clubs that acquired more than half a dozen players have been struggling to register positive results consistently.1.80 Tusker 3.35 Bidco United 4.40Ahead of the match, experienced midfielder, Humphrey Mieno predicts a tough encounter owing to the results the Thika-based outfit has been reaping in the past rounds. However, the former Kenyan international believes that they will pick from where they left and continue surging up on the standings.“We are trying to get our mojo and bounce back to more winnings as we look to climb up the standings. We are ready for three points and it is important for us to fight and get closer to the top. Bidco is a very good side. They also haven’t had good results their way this season but coming into this match with a win, we expect them to come psyched up and looking for three points. But we are ready to face them and we are hopeful for victory,” said the veteran midfielder on the club’s website.Match Day.🆚| Bidco United🏟️| Ruaraka Complex⏰| 3pm EAT#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/7rvZwFyDiS— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) January 5, 2022 Similarly, Bidco will also be gunning to scale to the top ten as well as register their fourth win of the season. The Anthony Akhulia coached side are breathing behind Tusker’s backs on the log with thirteen points and stand a chance of moving three places up should they upset the pre-match favourites.🚨| Mieno expects tough test from Bidco United🗣️| “We are trying to get our mojo back and get back more on to winning ways as we look to climb up the standings”🔗| https://t.co/Z60z9gCzSl pic.twitter.com/BCYPZhj58m— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) January 4, 2022 Attacking midfielder Emmanuel Mogaka has tipped his side to make light work of the hosts and get their second win over the brewers in the league. Last season, Bidco won the first leg 2-1 before losing in the return leg by a similar scoreline.“We have prepared well for the game especially on taking our chances. We have been playing well but our goal conversion rate hasn’t been good and at the same time, we have also been letting in goals easily,” said the FC Talanta midfielder.
