Defending champions Tusker have entrenched their name in the top ten bracket of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League after narrowly edging Bidco United 2-1 at Ruaraka grounds. The brewers were made to work overtime for the fifth win of the season as the visitors put in a decent show but will have their blunt forward to blame. There were no signs of a goal in the first half until Shami Kibwana drove the ball past Ezekiel Owade three minutes to the breather after Rodgers Ouma had picked on the left wing. The former Homeboyz midfielder looked like a candidate for substitution before the goal as he was having a quiet game but after kissing the back of the net, he stepped up and made a number of runs of the wing that barred David Kalama from advancing and whipping crosses. Before the goal, Bidco had worked well to contain the pressure from the hosts who threatened to grab the lead by all costs and have a firm grip and control of the match. The two goalkeepers had little to do in the half characterised by massive complains by either sides emanating from a number of calls the centre referee made and lack of cutting edge in the final third. Tusker fullbacks; Isaac Kipyegon and Kevin Monyi had a first half to forget as Alex Keke and David Gateri who caused them all sorts of problems but their final ball meant to reach Peter Anyona who was always sandwiched between Eugene Asike and Christopher Oruchum let them down. To increase their chances of netting from the chances created, Bidco made a double change in the 57th minute where David Orem and Nelson Chieta came in for Anyona and Gateri respectively. Matano also made a double in the 67th minute when he brought in Deogratious Ojok and Clyde Senaji for Lawrence Luvanda and John Njuguna respectively. Chieta drew Bidco level in the 74th minute, tapping in the ball past Brian Bwire with ease after the last man, Kevin Monyi missed the ball. The possibility of Bidco snatching a point from the brewers lasted for only five minutes as Ibrahim Joshua threw Tusker ahead again, heading the ball into an empty net after Ezekiel Owade came off the line only to miss the ball.In a change aimed at chasing for a point, Akhulia introduced Brian Nyakan with three minutes remaining for Kalama who appeared to have struggling with an injury. However, Tusker held on the slim advantage up to the final whistle to bag maximum points for the fifth time in the season.Tusker XIBrian Bwire, Kevin Monyi, Eugene Asike, Isaac Kipyegon, Christopher Oruchum, Rodgers Ouma, Lawrence Luvanda, Shami Kibwana, Humphrey Mieno, John Njuguna, Ibrahim JoshuaSubstitutes Michael Wanjala, Wellington Ochieng, Apollo Otieno, Eric Zakayo, Clyde Senaji, Daniel Sakari, Charles Momanyi, Deogratious Ojok, Stewart Omondi.
