Ingwe youngster eyes more goals

Youthful AFC Leopards forward Maxwell Otieno is glad to have relieved the pressure of opening his goal account at the club off his shoulders after his goal made the difference in their league match against Nairobi City Stars on Wednesday. The forward alongside Nigerian import Kingsley Olaniyi have been under pressure to score their maiden goals for the club and team up to fill in the rather big shoes left by Elvis Rupia who left the club for Saudi Arabia.FULL TIME Nairobi City Stars 0 AFC Leopards 1⚽️ Maxwell Otieno #Betsafe #OursForever #INGWE pic.twitter.com/jwKsKa9vi9— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) January 5, 2022 Leopards have been struggling to win matches in a convincing way thanks to lack of a proven goal scorer. The club has won three matches from the twelve rounds played thus far, with all the three victories coming in identical 1-0 scorelines.Otieno who prior to the game had started twice against Bandari and Gor blasted home the match winner which also turned to be Ingwe’s eighth goal of the season. Leopards have scored more than two goals once this season.”I am happy I ended the wait for my first goal in the league and for the club. I was under pressure to break the duck but now I can focus on getting more. The goal will boost my confidence going forward and will also motivate me to hunt for more,” he said.Maxwell Otieno scored his first goal for AFC Leopards against City Stars today. He is a product of the club’s youth team.
