Jesse Were scores on debut despite Kansashi Dynamos loss

Kenyan international Jesse Jackson Were had a bittersweet debut for his new Zambian side Kansanshi Dynamos as his single second half strike proved to be just a consolation goal for his latest employees as they were condemned to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Zanaco FC in a Zambian Super League clash played on Friday evening.Having just officially joined the club barely a week ago, the former Zesco United forward who reached a centurion of goals with his immediate former employees showed just why he was ropped into the side as he bagged his first goal for the club in his first game where he was thrusted straight into the starting eleven and featured for the entirety of the game.Zesco United legend Jesse Were finds new club after emotional exit from first club abroadHowever, with no man being an island, concerted efforts by the home team Zanaco saw Were’s heroics reduced to mere consolation as they scored two goals that sealed all the three points against the Mabanga Boys.Abraham Sinakombo gave Zanaco the lead with the game’s opening goal that came in the 19th minute and Dynamos had to wait until the second half for man of the moment Jesse Were to conjure something up that restored parity in the encounter.From a penalty awarded to the away side in the 62nd minute, Were grabbed his debut goal as he hit his effort down the middle to convert the strike after the goalkeeper dived the wrong way.Jesse Were scores on his Kansanshi Dynamos debut.
