The Sentry Tournament of Champions kicks off the PGA Tour’s 2022 calendar year. The annual winners-only event in Maui features 38 winners from last year’s Tour season. The only misses were Rory McIlroy, who chose not to play, and Cameron Champ, who can’t play after a positive COVID-19 test.
Nonetheless, it’s a loaded field, with world No. 1 Jon Rahm all four major winners from 2021—Hideki Matsuyama, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa—as well as Tokyo Olympics gold-medal winner, Xander Schauffele.
The Plantation Course at Kapalua is always a site to behold, with views for miles for both golfers and viewers at home. And there’s seemingly always something new each time these guys tee it up.
