Klopp tells fans ‘not to worry’ about Salah’s contract

Slowly but surely, Liverpool is taking care of business. And by ‘business’, they mean renewing contracts with their best players, since the Reds already have a good and strong squad. But the fans are still looking at the official website, waiting to read about the renewal of THE player: Mohamed Salah. Liverpool’s best player has still not signed an extension to his contract, and while fans are happy to see Henderson, Fabinho, Alliston, and Van Dijk all do that during 2021, we are into 2022, and there are still no signs that the Egyptian will commit any time soon. Only the finest for the King: Salah wants AFCON glory and a new Liverpool contractIn fact, Salah was interviewed just days ago, and expressed his frustration with the speed of the negotiations, stating that he’s not ‘asking for crazy stuff’. But, when asked about his opinion, coach Jurgen Klopp was relaxed, at least in public. “I really think, nowadays especially, it’s really dangerous with an interview when you didn’t speak to the player himself. It’s nothing that would be unexpected, we want Mo to stay ad that is the point we are at. These things take time, I think it is all in a good place, nothing more I can say. I’m very positive about it but I don’t think it makes sense you speak on behalf of the fans, I’m pretty sure they are not as nervous as you say they are, they know the club and there is enough reason to be positive but until it is done, there is nothing to say. Good conversations, that’s all I can say” Klopp replied ahead of Thursday’s game with Arsenal. (2.00) LIVERPOOL (3.45) ARSENAL (3.80)But journalist against pressed the German about the matter but also asked him if he thinks that Salah will be as good as he is now when he reaches his thirty’s. “There is nothing to say, nobody has to worry, it is just the situation. It is not done, but we are in talks and he is a world-class player, unbelievable, great boy, done a lot of great stuff for Liverpool and of course, we want to keep him. His character, his determination, the way he trains, his attitude is incredible – first in and last out – you can do a lot of not so good things in the gym on the training ground but he listens to the experts and has worked so hard to be in this situation, he will not waste it now. I am as convinced as you can be” explained Klopp.
