Bragging rights will be at stake when Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) leaders Kakamega Homeboyz confront second-placed KCB in the highlight match of the day at the Kasarani Annex on Sunday. The two teams have been touted as early title contenders owing to the good run they have had so far, depth in respective camps and the financial muscle to sustain them up to the final round of the season. From the thirteen rounds played thus far, both teams have scored 17 goals and conceded nine and recorded four draws each, a run which depicts two teams that have almost similar punching power. However, Homeboyz boast of having a three-point gap between them and the bankers courtesy of the eight wins they have gathered thus far. There has been a lot of talk around this fixture but I have advised my players to keep their focus on getting the three points and avoiding the mistakes which we had committed in the past rounds, ” said the former Nzoia Sugar coach.Mwalala confirmed that the trio of Stephen Etyang, Christopher Masinza and Francis Omondi did not travel to Nairobi due to injuries and illness. The former Kenyan international said Etyang hurt his ankle and will join Omondi who has been recuperating since undergoing surgery on the list of long term injuries while Masinza is down with Malaria.2.30 KCB 2.90 Kakamega Homeboyz 3.35KCB head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno on the other hand will also be without his centre back Robinson Kamura who saw red in their last week’s 1-0 defeat in the hands of Bidco United.Abana Abeingo, Kakamega Homeboyz watakuwa wageni wa Wanabenki KCB. Our opponents are firing from all cylinders and we will take them one without a key defender which is an advantage to them. We have tried different pairings at central defence and hopefully the one we settled on will work to fruition, ” said the former Harambee Stars assistant coach.
