Ibrahim Joshua had the chance to extend his tally to six goals for the season but his header from a John Njuguna freekick went wide early on. Rogers Ouma opened his account for Tusker, striking home in the 39th minute to give the hosts the lead. Making his first start, Shaphan Oyugi had the initial shot that was parried by Benard Otieno before Ouma latched on the rebound and sent the ball into the net.Vihiga Bullets came second in everything in the first half as Tusker dominated play throughout the period The Brewers would have made it two with technically the last kick of the half but Shaphan Oyugi could not get the power to his shot.Rodgers Ouma played a defense-splitting pass that Erick Zakayo chased before playing a cut-back for Oyugi, with the latter only managing a feeble shot straight to the hands of the goalkeeper and Tusker led into the break.Second half On resumption, Bullets came with intent of staging a comeback but it would not be the case as Tusker added to their advantage instead. Bullets were the first to make a change as Michael Isabwa came out for Abdul Wahab with the hunt for an equalizer heating up.Shortly after the hour mark, it was John Njuguna who doubled the lead for Robert Matano’s side, being on the end of an attack momentum created by Zakayo. Five minutes after the goal, Matano made a triple change as Lawrence Luvanda, Deogratious Ojok, and Shami Kibwana came on for Njuguna, Oyugi, and Ibrahim. Daniel Sakari had to come off with minutes to spare to the end after a collision and Wellington Ochieng took his place.Despite brilliant effort by Bullets to score at least a consolation, Tusker maintained the cleansheet as they bagged all the points.Tusker Starting XI: Patrick Matasi, Daniel Sakari, Jimmy Mbugua, Eugene Asike, Christopher Oruchum, Apollo Otieno, Erick Zakayo, Rogers Ouma, Shaphan Oyugi, Ibrahim Joshua, John NjugunaSubs: Brian Bwire, Isaac Kipyegon, Kalos Kirenge, Wellington Ochieng, Humphrey Mieno, Shami Mwinyi, Lawrence Luvanda, Stewart Omondi, Deogratious OjokVihiga Bullets: Benard Otieno, Nickson Kalwale, Vitalis Akumu, Mophat Kovelo, Chelot Sabulon, Patrick Onganya, Martin Okumu, Jessey Kasuba, Michael Isabwa, Kevin Sagida, Philip WanjalaSubs: Billy Bukhala, Rajab Kagota, Michael Tiema, Lonny Amadava, Abdul Wahab, Paul Otini, Rashid Kyambadde, Vincent OgollaThe win lifted Tusker to 11th on the log, as Bullets retained their last position.
