Tusker FC youngster Rodgers Ouma is elated after finally getting his first goal for the Brewers in the 2-0 win over Vihiga Bullets on Thursday at the Ruaraka Grounds.The attacking midfielder, known for his goal-scoring exploits scored the Brewers’ first goal before John Njuguna secured the points with his first for the club as well. The result ended Tusker’s two-match losing streak.Ouma joined Tusker before the start of the current campaign from the now-defunct Western Stima. At Stima he was known for his predatory goal-scoring instincts. He found the back of the net six times in the second phase of last season.He was relieved to open his Tusker account and he says that it gives him confidence heading to future assignments.“I am really thankful to God for first of all being at Tusker because this is such a huge elevation. I know for certain there are better players than me but I feel fortunate to have the coach’s faith and to be given the starting role,” he adds.He now targets a regular starting berth in the Brewers’ starting team. “It is not easy making it to the first 11 at a team like Tusker because there are very experienced players here. But now I will keep pushing, I will keep working and hopefully, things getter from here and continue being in the starting team,” he concluded.Ouma and Tusker travel to Bukhungu for the return leg against Bullets on Sunday.
