Bidco seeking first win over Gor Mahia

Thika-based Bidco United will host Gor Mahia at the Thika Sub-County Stadium in an FKF Premier League return leg match on Sunday afternoon. The two teams faced off for the first leg on Wednesday where Gor Mahia needed a late equalizer to salvage a point in a one-all draw against the Anthony Akhulia-led team. Jacob Onyango had given the visitors a first-half lead before Samuel Onyango earned his team a point.Bidco United head coach Akhulia was however far from happy with the officiating of the game and promised to beat Gor Mahia when the two teams meet on Sunday for the return leg.”We were robbed! The referee gave Gor a dubious penalty that cost us the three points. It is unfortunate that he made the wrong call at a time when we were coasting to our first victory over Gor. We are hosting them this weekend where our plan will be getting maximum points for they are beatable,” he said after Wednesday’s clash. For Gor Mahia midfielder Sydney Ochieng, his team has to give its best to get maximum points from the duel. “It is definitely a tough game, Bidco have a good fighting spirit that it is important that we go there and fight to win. We have to give our best to get all the points in that match,” he stated.🟢 | NEXT ASSIGNMENT 🏆 | League Match ⚽ | 🆚 Bidco United🗓 | Sunday, Jan 23🏟 | Thika stadium ⏰ | 3pm #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/cORfqR7hpy— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) January 21, 2022 The two teams have met four times in the top flight. Three of the meetings were in the league with one coming in the FA Cup. Gor has won one of the clashes while the other three have ended in one-all draws.United started the season slowly but they now appear to improve. Last season they proved to be a tough nut to crack for most teams, especially the big guns and Akhulia says he wants to see his team solid as they were last season. For Gor Mahia, the match comes at a time when there is so much speculation about some of their players. Frank Odhiambo is heading to Sweden while the futures of captain Harun Shakava, striker Benson Omala, and Ernest Wendo continue to be a subject of speculation.
